Hello Farm Friends,
Can you believe it? Since the last time I wrote all the little lambs for 2010 have arrived. What a fun time we have had watching them run and play, get lost from momma and then found all over again. Baby lambs are by far the best part of spring. My boys bringing me bouquets of daffodils comes in a close second though. It is fun when things begin to bloom again and they return back to the house with treasures for Mom.
The weather this year has been challenging. Actually for a farmer I suppose the weather is always a challenge. If I really think about it, it is not the weather's fault. It is simply my inability to quit thinking about what I could be doing if the ground were dry, or wet, or whatever the opposite of right now is. I resolve to just let things roll on as is. We will get to plant one day, hopefully by the 15th of April, or I will have to pick up that worry again haha!
Lots of beautiful produce is coming out of the hoop-houses now and some of our early planted field crops are poking through the soil, so indeed it looks like the 2010 growing season is ON.
This next weekend is Easter. Everyone is busy. Lives are lived at a frantic pace and there are so many things that need doing and need our urgent attention. Don't miss out on next weekend. Do not miss the celebration of Jesus coming back to life after death on the cross. This is where our HOPE for tomorrow comes from. Happy Easter to one and all. >"So we say with confidence, the Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid" Hebrews 13:6

Stones River Market, Murfreesboro fresh food option
We are proud to be members of the Stones River Market, a member of locallygrown.net. This is a great advancement for farmers allowing customers to become members of an "online" market, choosing products from many area farmers, but picking up their orders in one location, with one bill and your food all ready to go! Please visit . Stones River Market Locally Grown to see this week's list of available items. Orders can be placed Sunday-Tuesday (you get an email telling you the market is open after you sign up!) Delivery in Murfreesboro is in the downtown area around Cannonsburg (where the old Farmers Market used to be). For more information, please visit the website and contact the market manager!
