Hello Farm Friends,
WOW! August has almost come and gone…man time flies, especially in the summer for us! Things have been hopping around here as August is truly a month of multi-tasking! We are still growing and harvesting, replanting the summer garden, putting some of the summer garden in cover crops, tearing out old tomato trellises from the summer garden, replanting the hoophouse with summer/fall crops, harvesting winter storage crops like winter squash and checking on the sweet potatoes, as well as starting seeds in the greenhouse for fall/winter crops. Talk about having your mind in 31 different places at one time…yes we are a bit scattered, smothered and covered as Waffle House would put it! But the one accomplishment I am most proud of this past week is that on Friday night, Jim, the boys and I staked out the dimensions for the two new hoophouses that we plan to build in the coming weeks. Hopefully they will all go smoothly and we will be growing in them by October! Another first this week…Caleb took his first "mule" ride with Dylem. The "mule" is Dylem's little battery operated 4 wheel ATV. We strapped Caleb in and watched them go…of course Caleb loved it and wanted to ride much more than Dylem wanted to drive and much, much more than the battery lasted! Have a super week!
Thursday Night On-Farm Pickup
We are now taking orders for Thursday night pickup of fresh veggies right here on the farm in Eagleville. Pickup times are 3-6 pm on Thursday. To see what items are available please visit Market Page
Franklin Farmers Market
We will be there this Saturday! August 23rd. We are located at the end of the middle isle, end cap booth, on the music/food end of the market. We have blue tablecloths with chickens on them…Arugula's Star and High Lonesome Ranch are our neighbors…and if all of that doesn't help, just ask another farmer or customer!
Schedule for the next few weeks
We will be open for orders this Thursday August 21st and at the market this Saturday August 23rd, but the next week we will be closed.
We will not be open on August 28th or at the market on August 30th as we are taking some time "off" to recharge, switch gears and work on the hoophouses! Thanks!

Photo of the Week
I guess due to dry weather and the drying of the pond across the road, we have inherited lots and lots of frogs in our water trough! They are pretty fun to watch!
