First Honey Harvest--The Cappings


When bees declare the honey perfected they seal it up with a wax capping. To extract the honey you need to remove the cap. We used a cold knife to cut the wax cappings off the honey frames. In this picture you see the resulting wax cappings and some extra honey that will drop through the strainer.
