Whew! July started busy and is finishing up HOT-HOT!

Thought you might like to see some of the happenings on the farm! Lots going on from pretty morning sunrises, lots of cover crops growing and being mowed. Plus settling in the sweet potatoes by weeding them by hand and hilling for the last time of the year before they RUNNNnnnnnn! The winter squash is growing and the first set has fruit on it already...so fall is in the air...haha, we just can't feel it yet!

Our store remains open weekly for the rest of 2025, so please place your order, email us etc and take advantage of summertime goodies while the growing season lasts!

That's the family down the row working on finishing the final bit of weeding on the sweet potatoes. They are hilled now for the final time and nothing left to do but pray and wait for harvest season in late September and October. The winter squash is to the right...that's the first planting of it...there is our "hopeful" row of sweet corn in the middle. Farmers can dream right?

Buckwheat cover crop behind the hoops. This field will be planted in Brassicas (think broccoli, cabbage, kale) in about a month.

annnd..this is what it looks like when we mow a cover crop. All this goodness gets disked back into the soil to feed the microbes, good worms, and good soil fungi that will help the next crop grow. That means good clean healthy food for YOU and your FAMILY!
